Our collaborator and Speaker of the Indo-German Graduate College – Functional Molecular Infection Epidemiology, Prof. Dr. Lothar H. Wieler took over leadership of the Robert Koch Institute on March 1, 2015. He replaced retiring former President Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Reinhard Burger. On February 26, 2015 Lutz Stroppe, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Health, presented the new President with the certificate of appointment signed by the Federal President Joachim Gauck. The federal cabinet had approved the proposal from the Federal Minister of Health, Hermann Gröhe in November 2014. Pathogen Biology Lab and Gut Pathogens journal are proud of the achievements of Prof. Wieler and thankful for his patronage, guidance and support all along.
